How to use this salary calculator
Enter a pay amount and choose the period it represents. Add your normal work schedule, paid and unpaid days off, annual bonus or commission, and optional overtime. The table converts the result to hourly, daily, weekly, biweekly, semimonthly, monthly, quarterly, and annual figures.
What makes this different from a take-home pay calculator?
This page compares gross compensation before taxes. It focuses on salary conversion, working time, overtime, bonuses, and time off. Use the separate Take-Home Pay Calculator when you need to estimate taxes, retirement contributions, insurance, or other paycheck deductions.
How the calculations work
The entered amount is first converted to annual base pay using your work schedule. Unpaid days reduce base pay by the calculated daily rate. Paid days do not reduce cash pay, but they reduce hours actually worked and therefore increase the effective hourly value of compensation. Overtime uses the base hourly rate multiplied by the overtime multiplier, overtime hours, and working weeks.
How are paid holidays and vacation handled?
Paid days off leave cash compensation unchanged. The calculator removes those days from actual worked time when calculating effective hourly compensation. If time off is unpaid, enter it under unpaid days so annual cash pay is reduced.
Why are biweekly and semimonthly different?
Biweekly pay normally means 26 payments per year. Semimonthly pay means two payments per month, or 24 per year. Their individual paycheck amounts are therefore different.
Does this calculate taxes?
No. Results are gross estimates before taxes and employee deductions. Tax rules vary by location and change over time; use the Income Tax or Take-Home Pay Calculator for a separate estimate.
Are bonuses and overtime guaranteed?
No. They are included only when you enter them. Actual eligibility, rates, hours, and payment timing depend on your contract, employer, and local law.
For general planning only. Confirm compensation, leave, overtime, and payroll treatment with your employer or a qualified local adviser.
