Use your shoulder, bust, waist, and hip measurements to estimate your general body-shape category. Choose metric or US units—the ratios and result are the same in either system.

Body-shape labels describe proportions only. They do not measure health, fitness, body fat, or attractiveness.
What is a body type calculator?
This calculator compares circumference measurements to describe overall torso proportions. Common shape labels include hourglass, triangle, inverted triangle, and rectangle. Results are estimates because bodies vary continuously and may not fit one category perfectly.
How the estimate works
The calculator compares the bust, shoulders, and hips, then checks how defined the waist is relative to the bust and hips. A difference of only a few percent is treated as balanced so that ordinary measurement variation does not change the result too easily.
How should I take the measurements?
Use a flexible tape measure, keep it level and comfortably snug, and measure over light clothing. Measure shoulders around the broadest point, bust or chest at the fullest point, waist at the natural narrowest point, and hips at the fullest point.
Is body type the same as somatotype?
No. The ectomorph, mesomorph, and endomorph system is an older somatotype concept. This tool describes visible measurement proportions and does not predict metabolism, athletic ability, or how easily someone gains muscle or fat.
Can my body type change?
Yes. Measurements and proportions can change with growth, aging, pregnancy, training, weight change, or measurement technique.
