How this annuity estimate works
In accumulation mode, the calculator starts with your current balance, adds scheduled contributions, and applies the selected effective annual return over each contribution period. Contributions at the beginning of a period receive one additional period of modeled growth compared with contributions at the end.
In payout mode, the calculator models a level withdrawal at the selected frequency. It can estimate the payment that exhausts a balance over a chosen term, or estimate how many periods a chosen payment may last. A final payment can be smaller than the regular amount if only part of it is needed to reach a zero balance.
What assumptions does this calculator use?
Returns are constant and compounded consistently with the selected payment frequency. Actual annuity products may include surrender charges, administrative and investment fees, insurer crediting rules, tax rules, riders, market-value adjustments, and guarantees that are not represented here. Taxes are not included.
What is the difference between accumulation and payout?
Accumulation estimates balance growth while money is being added. Payout estimates scheduled withdrawals from an existing balance. Use accumulation to explore contributions and time; use payout to compare a planned income amount or payout period.
Does the result guarantee future income?
No. This is a mathematical estimate, not an insurance quote or guarantee. Actual contract benefits depend on the contract terms, fees, insurer, investment results, and applicable law.
